6 Verified Fixes for PlayStation Network Sign in failed on PS5

Undoubtedly PS5 is the best known console for playing games. Users are tremendously happy with the Console but there are some users who seem quite disappointed as they have been stuck with PlayStation Network Sign in failed on PS5. Though tackling the issue is not a big deal but it is extremely annoying because when the user gets stuck with the issue, they can’t access their account and can’t play the game on their console.

If you are also struggling with the same issue and desperately wants to seek help for troubleshooting the same then this article is for you.

As we have earlier mentioned that it’s a common issue and can be randomly faced by users while accessing their account. Considering the grievances of the several users when we dive deep into the issue we found some potential culprits that lead to the above mention issue.

What causes PlayStation Network Sign in failed on PS5?

Server Issues: One of the major reasons for facing the PSN Sign in failed issue is the server issues. Sometimes the PSN can’t connect to the server due to traffic on the signal or due to down/ under maintenance server.

Issues with the Internet Service Provider: Another major issue is the ISP or when the router becomes unresponsive. The chances are quite higher to stuck with the error.

Wrong Login Credentials or Account Problems: Sometimes users enter wrong credentials in rush and face issue in logging.  It is also possible that the user is having other issues with the account.

Try these Fixes for PlayStation Network Sign in failed on PS5

Method 1: Update PS5 Firmware

In the very first method we suggest you to update the PS5 firmware. Outdated software leads to several malfunctioning and most importantly outdated software is not compatible with the server. So kindly update the PS5. To d so follow the below mention guidelines:

Step 1: Navigate to Settings on our console>select System Software Update

Step 2: Tap on Update Now and once the download get completed, don’t forget to read the System Software License Agreement

Step 3: After that click Accept and press X button to confirm your choice

Step 4: When you are done then try to login into your account, if the issue still persists then jump to the next method.

Method 2:  Change DNS Settings

One of the major reasons for facing the issue is because of the blocked IP address. In order to unblock the IP address, one can try to change DNS Settings. Follow the steps to change the DNS Settings:

Step 1: Navigate to Settings>Network

Step 2: In the Network, select Internet Connection setup and then select Use Wi-Fi to connect to Network option and then choose custom.

Step 3: Now select Wi-Fi Network you want to use and set the IP address Settings as Automatic

Step 4: Select Do Not Specify on the DHCP Host Name screen & select Manual under DNS Settings and enter Google DNS (Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8, Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4)

Step 5: Click the Next button to continue

Step 6: Once you are done with the above steps and you see MTU Settings, select Manual and then set MTU value as 1456.

Step 7: Click Do Not Use under Proxy Server>click Test Internet Connection. When the test gets finished then check if the issue resolved or not.

Method 3: Reset PS5 to Default Settings

If still you are struggling t get past the issue then we suggest you to reset PS5 to default settings. To o so, follow the steps:

Note: Resetting the Console will delete all your data on the internal drive and it is undone. So before proceeding with the method, kindly backup your data.

Step 1: Go to Settings>choose Initialization

Step 2: Select Initialize PS5>then select Full on the next page to perform a full factory reset. And you will be done with resetting the console.

Method 4: Automatic Login

On the basis of several users experience we also suggest you to choose the option of automatic login, it will help you in logging Play Station on its own and you won’t have to login manually very time.

Here’s how:

Step 1: In the first step go to Settings>choose the User Option

Step 2: You need to move to Login Settings and tick the login PlayStation automatically option. Once done then restart the console and try to login.

Method 5: Disable Media Sever Connection

In most of the cases we found that users face PlayStation Network Sign in failed on PS5 issue because of Media Server Connection. So disable the Media Server Connection by following the below mention instructions:

Step 1: First of all navigate to Settings> select Network from the menu

Step 2: Once you reach the Media Server Connection option then click the option to disable it.

Method 6: Rebuild Database

If none of the above mentioned methods works for then try to rebuild database. In order to rebuild the database, follow the steps:

Step 1: Firstly Power off our PS>hold the Power Button for 8 seconds.

Step 2: Connect your dual shock 4 to the PlayStation using charging cable and press the PlayStation button.

Step 3: Lastly go down to rebuild database option and press X.
