Method 2: Reset from Lock Screen

Method 3: Delete NGC folder

Method 1: Enable PIN Recovery with Microsoft Intune

Step 1: Login into Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center as Global administrator

Step 2: Go to ‘Endpoint Security > Account Protection > Properties’. And look for Enable PIN recovery and set it to Yes.

Step 3: Sign into Azure portal with Global admin account and go to ‘Intune > Device configuration > Profiles’ and Click the profile with PIN reset configuration and select Assignments.

Step 4: Set your user profile inside the included group and select ‘Review + Save’ and choose ‘Save’ to save the changes.

Method 2: Enable PIN Recovery with Local Group Policy Editor

Step 1: Press ‘Windows + R’ keys on keyboard, type ‘gpedit.msc’ in ‘Run’ window and hit ‘Ok’ button to open ‘Group Policy Editor’ app and go to following path in left pane

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Hello for Business

Step 2: Double-click ‘Use PIN Recovery’ to open its Properties. Select ‘Enabled’ radio option and click ‘Ok’ button to save the changes. Once done, check if it works.

Method 3: Enable PIN Recovery with Registry Editor

Step 1: Open ‘Registry Editor’ app in Windows PC via Windows Search Box and go to following path

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\PassportForWork

Step 2: Locate ‘EnablePinRecovery’ and double-click it to edit, set its value to ‘1’ and hit ‘Ok’ button to save the changes.
