Step 1: Open ‘Settings’ App in Windows PC via Windows Search Box and go to ‘Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooters’

Step 2: Find and select ‘Windows Store Apps’ troubleshooter, and click ‘Run the troubleshooter’ and follow on-screen instructions to finish troubleshooting and once finished, check if the issue is resolved.

Method 3:  Reset Xbox App

You can perform Xbox App reset in computer in order to fix the issue.

Step 1: Open ‘Settings’ App in Windows PC via Windows Search Box and go to ‘Apps > Apps & Features’

Method 4: Reset Windows Store/Microsoft Store

Step 1: Press ‘Windows + R’ keys on keyboard, type ‘wsreset.exe’ in ‘Run’ window and hit ‘Ok’ button to perform Windows Store reset

Method 5: Clear Windows Update Cache

Corrupted Windows Update cache in computer can cause this type of issue. You can fix the issue by clearing Windows Update cache in computer.

Step 1: Type ‘cmd’ in Windows Search Box and press ‘SHIFT + ENTER’ keys on keyboard to open ‘Command Prompt as Administrator’

net stop wuauserv

net stop cryptSvc

net stop bits

net stop msiserver

ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old

ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

net start wuauserv

net start cryptSvc

net start bits

net start msiserver

Step 3: Once executed, restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.

Method 6: Re-adding Xbox account (Xbox Console)

If this error is appeared on Xbox One console, you can fix the issue by removing and re-adding Xbox account in console.

Step 1: Close any app/game running on Xbox One Console. Now, press ‘Xbox’ button your controller to bring up guide menu, access ‘Settings’

Step 2: Go to ‘Account’ tab, move over the right-side menu and choose ‘Remove Accounts’, select the account that you want to get rid of and then confirm the process.

Step 3: Once the account is removed, do a hard reset in order to ensure that temp file + power capacitors are cleared. Press & hold ‘Power’ button on console for about 10 seconds.

Step 4: Boot your console back conventionally and login with your account once again to check if the issue is resolved.

Method 7: Delete NGC folder

If the issue is occurred when you try to create a PIN or remove current Pin from your Microsoft Account, you can fix the issue with deleting the NGC folder that could be affected.

Step 1: Make sure you are signed-in with admisntrator account. You will need admin permissions to delete the contents of NGC folder

Step 2: Open ‘File Explorer’ and go to ‘C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC’ path

Step 3: Once you are inside NGC folder, select all items and delete them inside the folder. Once finished, repeat the PIN related task and check if the issue is resolved.

Method 8: Switch a local account

You can also try to fix the issue by switching a local account in Windows PC.

Step 1: Press ‘Windows + R’ keys on keyboard, type ‘ms-settings:emailandaccounts’ in ‘Run’ window and hit ‘Ok’ button to open ‘Email & Accounts’ tab of Settings app

Step 2: Click ‘Family & other users > Other users > Add someone else to this PC > I don’t have this person sign-in information hyperlink > Add a user without Microsoft Account’

Step 3: Enter desired username and password and hit ‘next’ to create a local account. Once created, restart your computer and login with newly created account, and check if the issue is resolved.

Method 9: Repair Windows OS or perform clean Windows OS install

If the issue is still persist, you can try to fix the issue by performing Windows OS repair using a Windows Installation Media USB/DVD and check if it works for you. If not, you can perform clean Windows OS installation in order to fix the issue.
