Here is all about Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22593

Recently, Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22593 to the dev and beta channel.  While it is light on new features, plenty of bug fixes that it bought will surely improve the overall users’ experience.

The default Homepage of the File Explorer is now renamed to Home in the Quick Access. A new section with Quick Access Moniker is there for pinned/ frequent folders. These recent and pinned files can be searched through the search box, no matters these are non-local files.

Also, there is an addition to the Windows snap assist. You will see layouts are now numbered and can quickly be applied using the number keys. A pen menu is added to the Windows which provides you a quick way to access frequently used applications. There, you will find Microsoft Journal is pinned by default.

In case of the application is not installed there, you can do so right from the pen menu by using the Microsoft Store. You will also have an option of using 5 minute increments in the Focus assist timer in Windows.

The memory integrity as a virtualization based security tool that prevents the exploits of the windows kernel which is turned on by default for all compatible systems. In the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22593, you will get the notification when this feature is turned OFF.

You will find the memory integrity option in the core installation section under Windows Security> Device Security. The ADLaM that is being used to write Fulani language is being updated which provides access to brackets.

General:
  • Fixed the issues causing explorer.exe reliability n recent flights.
Taskbar:
  • Addressed the issue where app icons start animating unexpectedly when launching it,
  • Addressed issues causing flight leading to duplicate app icons when closing and re-opening in app,
  • Fixed an issue causing app icon spacing to invert so that it is large when it should be small and vice versa when switching in and out of the tablet optimized taskbar,
  • Fixed the crash causing taskbar to get stuck in the tablet-optimized taskbar view,
  • Addressed issues where app icons in the system tray which are expected to flash are not doing that,
  • Fixed the issue causing system try icons to get stuck even after users close the app,
  • Mitigate the issue where mouse event are not being passed to apps for icons in the system tray,
  • Addressed issues leading to decrease in the notification center launch reliability in the recent flights,
  • Mitigate issue causing the Notification Center and its content to sometimes show wrong color text for systems’ theme.
Start menu:
  • Fixed issue where when you created a folder in start menu in the same position as a deleted folder, it would show the old name,
  • Fixed the issue where when using the keyboard to start options following WIN+ X didn’t work,
  • Fixed an issue where the prompt wasn’t coming to the front while launching Windows,
  • The search icon on the taskbar now no longer unexpectedly flashes when closing the Start Menu.
Search:
  • Fixed an issue impacting the search reliability where typed searches into the search window or start and nothing would happen at all in the recent flights.
File Explorer:
  • Fixed scaling issue where the problem is that the context menu is in unexpected size when invoking it on system with mixed DPI monitors,
  • Addressed issue where the Show More options entry in the context menu was not working for the items in the File Explorer navigation pane,
  • Fixed an issue causing Open in Windows Terminal context menu option missing for secondary users,
  • Mitigation of the issue leading to the address bra inaccessible,
  • Mitigation of the issue leading to increased launch time for certain type of files in the previous flight.
Widget:
  • Fixed the issue where pinning from the Feed, the pinned widget is placed at the top instead of the below other pinned widgets,
  • Fixed the issue where after rearranging widgets in the widgets board, users sometimes notice problems with widgets in the pinned section rendering incorrectly.
Input:
  • Fixed the issue preventing several input UI surfaces from displaying explorer.exe crashes in recently flights,
  • Mitigate an issue where Narrator was silent when launching the EMOJI panel in certain cases,
  • Fixed an issue that causes custom theme changes in the Settings> Personalization> Text input to not save properly sometimes,
  • Addressed a few more color issues with the touch keyboard like touch keyboard end up with mix dark and light theme when changing from dark to light mode,
  • Fixed an issue where Chinese IMEs show 5 suggested associated phrases only where they should show 9,
  • Addressed rendering issue with the corners of the IME toolbar,
  • Fixed an issue where IME toolbar was nothing hiding and showing correctly when using the previous version of the Japanese IME,
  • Fixed an issue causing some voice typing commands not to work,
  • Addressed an issue where the settings Disable Touch while using Pen under settings> Bluetooth & Device> Pen & Windows Ink would not take effect sometimes on the first boot in the recent flights,
  • Fixed an issue causing Get-InstalledLanguage and Install-Language PowerShell commands to unexpectedly fail with error 0x8007023E for some languages.
