Method 1: Select RGB mode
Step 1: Open your GIMP software and click Image menu at top of window
Step 2: Select Mode submenu and select ‘RGB’ on Mode submenu if it not already selected.
Method 2: Check you have got the right layer selected
If you have multiple layers, make sure your top one is selected and if you have got a lower layer selected, the paint will be applied to that instead of visible top one. GIMP’s right sidebar displays your layers, select the top layer there if it is not selected, and try painting.
Method 3: Check your brush settings
Step 1: Click Painbrush Tool button on GIMP software and look at the value on the paintbrush sidebar
Step 2: Drag he Brush Size bar to right to increase its value and drag the Brush Hardness bar further right if its current value is very low, and then try painting with the expanded and hardened brush.
Method 4: Check if Clipboard Image is selected
